Parishioners once again came together to celebrate Christmas Eve in Bedford.
As usual, the chapel could not contain all the people who attended. Others gathered around the bonfire as badnjak crackled beneath the flames..
The children at the parish Serbian school had helped to prepare bundles of straw and badnjak tied together.
After the blessing, Prota Radmilo Stokić spoke of the major project within the parish for the year - the renovation at Corby's St Elijah Church.
Protinca Seka had hidden wrapped candy under the straw for the children to find as well as goodie bags.
Warm rakija was served as people stayed to chat together.
Tomorrow we'll come together for Christmas Day at St Paul's Church in Bedford town.
