Serbian School Bedford

The school is under the auspices of the Bedford Parish of St. Andrew and supported by the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science & Technological Development, which provides a qualified teacher. The school aims to teach children from age 6+ about Serbian language, culture, history and Orthodox Christianity. Lessons are conducted in Serbian with additional support for those who are just starting with the language.

Classes take place on Saturdays from 1.00 till 3.00 at the Church Dom and children are provided with the necessaey materials and snacks. There is a class for younger children / those who don’t speak Serbian; and another class for older / more advanced children.

Parents volunteer for 3 or 4 school sessions during the year. To support the running costs of the school and purchase additional equipment, parents pay £40 for the first child, then £20 for each additional child. We have about 18-20 children attend each Saturday.
