Works started at St Elijah's Churchyard in Corby

Renovations at the Church of the Holy Prophet St Elijah in Corby commenced in December 2016. Works on the roof and interior (repairs of water damaged frescoes and matching new icons) were completed at the end of last year, and the restored temple was consecrated by His Grace Bishop G. Dositej, on the occasion of St. Sava celebrations this year.

In October of this year, the fresco artist Nemanja Marunić from Belgrade painted four more frescoes at the entrance to the temple, which are endowments from three families; Tovilović and Sabadi (3 frescoes) from Corby and Ilija Stojsavljević from Letchworth.

These frescoes will be blessed on Sunday 19th March 2019.

With this, the works on the interior are concluded. However other important works on the exterior, particularly the churchyard, have commenced from 28th November all thanks to our parishioner and donor Ilija Radomilović from Northampton. The value of the project is over £12,000 and is expected to be completed within several weeks.

Up to now, with the help of God, and the kindness of our donors, we managed to cover the expenses of all works from our Building Fund. However to finish the project in the churchyard we need the financial help of all our parishioners, and in particular those from Corby, as well as our friends.

In the hope that we will be able to successfully complete the renovation of the Prophet St. Elijah, we (the board and the priest) wish to extend our gratitude to you in advance.

Please make your donations to the following Construction Fund account:
