CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

Serbian Language Course:

The Bedford Serbian School will follow the Azbukum Serbian language course from A1 to C1 levels. The classes will support all students learn and test their knowledge, from beginner A1 level to intermediate level B2 which is equivalent to GCSE level, and advanced level C1 which corresponds to “A level”.

Textbooks:

We will use course texts from the Azbukum Centre. These textbooks have been designed to teach Serbian as a foreign or non-native language.

The textbooks have been adapted for different ages: children, young people and adults. They are also adapted to different levels of knowledge, from beginner to advanced.

Exams and graduation:

Examinations are also provided in collaboration with Azbukum. Azbukum has received accreditation from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia to conduct examds and issue official diplomas / certificates of knowledge of Serbian as a foreign language.

The tests are in line with the European Framework for Knowledge of Foreign Languages and it is possible to take tests at levels A1 to C2 (A1 and A2 are initial, B1 and B2 are intermediate and C1 and C2 are advanced levels).

Information on foreign language proficiency levels under the European Framework is attached.

Currently there is no UK GCSE exam for Serbian language.

The B2 level corresponds to a GCSE level. So the B2 level is offered as an equivalent to the GCSE exam.

All tests and graduation is undertaken by Azbukum. Exams can be organised individually or through a Serbian school.
